I love these fun little pin cushion jars, they are quite popular around Pinterest and the crafty blogs and I've really wanted one of my own.
So there is not a lot of innovation here, I simply finally had time to put one together for myself!
Wouldn't this little kit be the most fun for any little sewing beginner? I would have loved it as a child, when I was first starting out. I found these cute short and square jars, the scissors and embroidery floss at Target and I think I found the pins at Walmart.
The only thing I changed from the many tutorials I reviewed online was how I finished the inside of the jar lid. The tutorials I looked at had circles of cardboard or such cut to glue to the inside lid. I made my fabric circle large enough to meet in the middle inside the lid when gathered and glued this large button on. Cute, no? A little bit of secret fun under the lid! This is the tutorial I followed most closely, at The Seasoned Homemaker. So fun!
