Cosmo 8x10 Print

I love Cosmos, their bright colors, tall and wavy wildness! These two 8x10 prints hang near my kitchen and dining area and add a bright dash of color that I love! Now, I have this in a larger size available as one print, (If anyone is interested in the large print, please email me for details.) but split it into two smaller prints that can be done on anyone's home color printer and framed quite reasonably with a standard 8x10" frame. A fun way to add some style without spending a lot!

Sailboat Party Decor Printables!

This past spring we used this design and these party printables for my little grandson's baby shower, Oh my goodness, it was adorable! I wish I had photos of the event, but I didn't know I would be starting this blog back then, and was very busy hosting, I'm terrible getting the camera out when I'm busy in the kitchen and with a party! However, they worked very nicely and everyone loved them, I hope my friends here can also have some fun with them. It was this party that made me see how much I enjoyed creating these fun party items, and later after doing a few more celebrations I thought...hmmm...why not share the fun? This Printable set is available at the Maddalee Etsy Shop. The Sailboat Party Printable Package is available in a hi-res, editable PDF format. You will be able to change the names, dates and info in Adobe Acrobat before printing.

Recipe Card and Divider Printables!

Here at Maddalee we are foodies. Any time of year, any time of day we love love love our food! Our celebrations and family gatherings are never complete without favorite foods, and new foods. Often I just grab screen captures of new things that I see online and dump them in my "recipe folder". This is not always the best, as the files usually don't get renamed as they should and I end up opening a bunch of files before I find the right one, if it has become a favorite! Now, another thing you will see in my kitchen—if you open the cabinet door left of the stove, it is covered inside with PostIt notes of many and various recipes that I have jotted the least amount of information down possible for a recipe in my office upstairs, and run down to the kitchen to prepare. Good, huh? Kind of funny looking through them to find what I am looking for, if I'd like to prepare it again. The best thing for me is to copy these PostIt extravaganzas to a real recipe card once the recipe is tried, true and a new favorite and add it to my recipe box. This makes finding it next time so much easier! My plan is to try new recipes and post my results and thoughts here, along with all the other fun. I must ask that you wait just a bit for these posts, as my son gets married on Saturday, and I will have more time after this beautiful event!

A Summer Long Ago...

My children are older now, but I remember this time of year as though it were yesterday. Getting ready for school, new supplies, new clothes, new teachers and new classrooms. The end of summer is still difficult now even with grown kids, thinking back to the end of our days of doing just what we wanted to do. I was blessed with being a stay at home mom for most of my kid's childhood, what fun we had! Much of the summer was spent at the lake in Northern Wisconsin, God's Country. Days of sparkly sun by the water, in the water, and being pulled very fast on the water, in whatever tube, ski, board, airchair or whatever you can think of. On rainy days I would have cooking lessons with my young children, and we would watch every Jaws movie available! (I know, kind of funny, no? Going back in the water after the clouds broke :) And we waited for Daddy to come up on weekends. I would actually cry in the car on the way out on the last day of summer, heading back to the real world. Now we will start to make the lake trips with grandchildren, and the story continues. This is me in the photo, up at my grandfather's resort. He homesteaded on the lakes in Minocqua, quite the legacy for my family, quite the history.

As I turn to a life of Grammie rather than the mother of young children, I have all the normal pangs of missing days of fun with my little kids. It's a time of change, switching gears so to speak. I look forward to days of fun with my grown children that have always been a blessing to me, and to the fun and wonder of grandchildren. A blessing again, and so far loads of fun and bundles of love! I hope all my friends and family have sparkly days in the sun while navigating life's changes. Thank you for visiting here at Maddalee, I hope to hear from you.

Bridal Shower Printables Preview

We had the most wonderful time this past weekend at my future daughter-in-law's bridal shower. A food photo from party day! Can you see we are foodies? It was wonderful!

I took the rest of photos as we were pulling the decor, serving pieces and so forth together at my home a few days prior to the party. We held the shower an hour away at Grandma's house, which was much closer to the bride and her friends and family. Thank you Grandma, so sweet of you to offer! I knew I would be so very busy setting up on party day, and snapped these a few days ahead of the party. We added fresh flowers to the white ceramic pitchers, food, beverages, friends, family and fun!

Getting ready with many things, more to pull together and pack up to go!

I had a wonderful time designing this Bunting Banner and assembling it! This will be offered later this week as an editable pdf printable with our Bridal Shower printable package!

We gave Jamie this silver treasure box from Brighton, filled with Wine Glass Charms that were our Party Favor gifts for all who attended. It was very pretty on the table.

The silver framed photo was also part of our table decor, and another small gift for the bride. Wine Glass Charms were beautiful and sparkly little Party Favor gifts for all of our guests, aren't the little tags pretty? They will also be included in our printable package.

A close up of the Beverage Stand-up Tags and the Party Favor Gift Tag that will be included in the Bridal Shower printable package to be offered later this week. I must create the editable pdf files, so that the names can be changed. Check back, hopefully just a few days on my end! We had a lovely celebration, the fun decor added to the joy of our celebration, I hope it can do the same for you some day!

A huge shout-out and thank you to my beautiful daughter Julia, my partner in crime planning and pulling this lovely shower together. She baked her heart out, created the Wine Glass Charms and Party Favors and did the heavy stuff!
